Sinful Colors Song of Summer & ORLY Coachella Dweller Comparison
I recently received Sinful Colors - Song of Summer in the #surfsupvoxbox and thought that it seemed incredibly similar to ORLY - Coachella Dweller, so I decided to do a comparison!
As you can see above the two polishes are practically the same, I’d say there was maybe a half shade difference between them. Nothing significant though. Coachella Dweller had a thinner and more sheer formula and needed 3 coats to become opague and non streaky. Song of Summer only needed two coats.
I don’t believe Coachella Dweller is sold in stores anymore, so if you missed out on that one I suggest buying Song of Summer.

Reusing a Glitter Gradient
I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to take off a glitter polish. So, instead of taking off the glitter I just patched the nails up and added a pretty red hued coral to the rest of my nails and added a gold glitter dot to them.
To patch up the glitter nails I took a small glob of polish and repainted the free edge to hide any chips and tip wear. Once that was dry I painted a thin coat of glitter to the entire nail. That hid the extra polish at the tips as well as covered up the new nail growth near the cuticle.

Fox Nail Art
I started off with a base of OPI - My Vampire is Buff (adore this color!) on all fingers but the ring finger and thumb. For the remaining fingers I painted on two coats of OPI - My Favorite Ornament.
I then proceeded to do the dry brush technique on the MViB nails using Revlon Colorstay - Trade Winds and Zoya - Flynn. I wanted it to look a bit wood grainy but I went in a bit too heavy handed for that. It still creates an awesome effect though!
Next I went in with white acrylic paint, which was a new experience for me. I used the white paint to make the vines and leaves. I typically mess things like that up so I thought I'd try the paint this time so that if I messed up I could just wash it off. That sort of worked. Sort of.
I filled in the vines with ORLY - Coachella Dweller and the leaves with Sally Hansen Magnetic - Electric Emerald and Pure Ice - Creme Wild Thing. I then just dotted on simple flowers with a Utes nail polish and Wet N Wild - Sunny Side Up. I dotted those in the middle with My Vampire is Buff.
I painted a fox on my middle finger. I love this fox but it's a bit different from the fox in my inspiration. I attempted the fox from my inspiration but it ended badly.
Anyway, I've blabbered on enough. Here's the photo of my inspiration. It is a card filled with cute little sticky notes. I have a feeling I'll be using this item for more inspiration in the future.

ORLY Matte FX - Purple Velvet
I really like this ORLY Matte FX in Purple Velvet. It's such a pretty purple. The only problem with it being matte is that once it dries all the shimmers in it become almost unnoticeable. To see the shimmers you'd have to add a shiny topcoat. I might have to try it out soon.
The formula was not self leveling either. So, if you do choose to wear this color you have to smoothly and evenly apply the polish. I didn't do this properly on my left hand and it looks all bumpy and weird.
